Civil War History and General Commentary on Issues of Import or Not.

by Daniel Mallock

While the opposition carries on about media bias, the Obama adherents ignore the truth. While Senator Obama’s associations are dismissed as irrelevant; while the country is on the edge of jettisoning capitalism in the most serious swing to the left in history; while the press and Obama adherents ignore Obama’s friendships with American terrorists and murderers, extreme radical leftists like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, supporters of PLO terror and anti-semitic demagogue Rashid Khalidi, convicted racketeer Tony Rezko (who has ties to Saddam Hussein’s corrupt tyranny in Iraq), “Reverand” Jesse Jackson, the anti-semite, Reverand Jeremiah Wright the America hater and black liberation theologist, Louis Farrahkan the Nation of Islam leader and anti-semite, and Rael Odinga the Sharia (Islamic Law) supporting Prime Minister of Kenya - those who are unaffected and unimpressed by the “messiah’s” spin, outright falsehoods, and shibboleths of “hope” and “change” can only wonder in horror at the state of things and what the future may hold.

There is a cultishness and anti-intellectualism that is fundamental to the majority of Obama followers. How can this be?

The response to Obama is almost entirely emotional. Adherents in the Obama cult want change. They don’t quite care what kind. They just want change.

Fundamentally, there are several false and extreme beliefs that propel the Obama Cult adherents:

  • Bush = Hitler
  • The elections of 04 and 00 were “stolen”. They are angry!
  • The Iraq War is about oil - No Blood for Oil
  • Abu Ghraib is the epitome of American efforts in Iraq - we are the “bad guys”
  • We’ve squandered our international popularity and sympathy after 9/11
  • The problems in the middle east are Israel’s fault
  • Islam is a peaceful religion
  • The republicans are the cause of the economic failure in the stock markets

Obama cultists want change. And they will get quite a bit of it, if “the messiah” is elected. But it will be much more than they bargained for. Something else is afoot in the land. People are being manipulated, people are being swayed, people are being falsely led.

Something else entirely is going on.

There are roads aplenty that the media should run down, but they do not. There are questions to be asked about Obama’s character, his history, and his integrity that are not being asked. The people do not know the truth about their “messiah” of “change”.

The following could be one of the main reasons. There is extensive historical precedent for this: many leaders, many speakers have manipulated their audiences. It is not a difficult path to trod. Most Obama adherents cannot articulate why they support their candidate; most Obama supporters will suggest that there is something entirely unseemly in not supporting Obama. There is historical precedent. The people are being manipulated. It is not difficult, and with the cooperation of the corrupt leftist American media, they are close to taking the White House. The consequences will likley be disastrous for our country.

Watch, you will see how easy it is.

Click here to see a lengthy and impressive report on the use of hypnosis techniques by Obama in his speeches. (A PDF file will launch.) The introduction to this lengthy article begins:

Barack Obama’s speeches contain the hypnosis techniques of Dr. Milton Erickson, M.D. who developed a form of “conversational” hypnosis that could be hidden in seemingly normal speech and used on patients without their knowledge for therapy purposes. Obama’s speeches intentionally contain: …

Mr. “Conclusion is Search of Data” strikes again.

So, other people are under a spell while you turn Synagogues into Mosques just to make your flimsy points.

You have no objectivity, no pursuit of honest alternatives, no critical thinking–but it’s all the liberals who aren’t being rational.

    Oh, yes, one more thing:

John McCain more than associated with Anti-Semitic General John Singlaub and he even joined his organization, an organization that promoted death squads in Nicaragua.

McCain shares the “philosophy” of a man who plotted to assassinate journalist, Jack Anderson. That man is also a noted criminal and domestic terrorist who went to prison for his crimes, G. Gordon Liddy. John McCain calls Liddy one of his “oldest friends.”

McCain also associates with known White Supremacists such as Richard Quinn (McCain’s campaign manager in South Carolina) and has even endorsed white supremacist, George Wallace Jr.

McCain is known for his numerous racist and homophobic jokes, His public use of Asian slurs, His private, but outrageously frequent use of black slurs, His direct affiliation and participation in Anti-Semitic organizations (unlike Obama who is only attacked by association). You probably love the fact that he publicly humiliates 12 year old girls like Chelsea Clinton (calling her “ugly”) and uses the “C” word in reference to his wife (all completely verifiable).

McCain also associates with Alaskan secessionists, Todd and Sarah Palin, and his participation in the Keating Five hurt more people than William Ayers ever dreamed of.

Yeah, your guy is SOOOOOOOOO clean! Excuse me while I puke now.

What kind of spell are you under?

Lastly, all true intellectuals use the Howard Stern show as a reliable source.

Numerous objective studies confirm that McCain’s supporters are far more ill-informed than Obama’s “New York, Arugula-eating, elitist know- it-alls.” 23 percent of the people of Texas have even been convinced (hypnotized, one might say) into thinking that Obama is a Muslim. Oh, but what do facts matter to someone under the spell of John McCain.

I beg you. Go to Factcheck.org and try to develop a critical basis for your commentaries.

    Steve,

You have a perfect talent at confusing yourself. You’re not very effective at confusing others, though.

A recent analysis/commentary in the Wall Street Journal laid this out quite clearly. You’ve projected everything you’ve ever wished for onto the “messiah”; he’s a blank slate for you and all the acolytes of “change” and “hope”. The point of posting Howard Stearn here is to demonstrate that at least those Obama supporters who Stearn interviewed are completely clueless about Obama. I think they are representative. You do a fairly good job of masking your cultishness with pseudo-intellectual arguments, but you’re fairly obvious in your complete inability to weigh alternatives and derive conclusions based on readily available facts. You personally may be as leftist/socialist as the “messiah” but I’d suggest that the vast majority of his supporters are not.

Here is an important shibboleth that you mention in your comments above: “McCain also associates with Alaskan secessionists, Todd and Sarah Palin, and his participation in the Keating Five hurt more people than William Ayers ever dreamed of.”

This comparison of a domestic terrorist/murderer with financial criminals and stating that the keating criminals “hurt” more people than William Ayers ever dreamed is a grotesque moral equivalency that demonstrates your moral confusion and intellectual bankruptcy. This is a bizarre theme in the current election that you perfectly demonstrate. Your comments here are important for that reason alone.

The truth of the matter is that McCain was exonerated for any/all wrong-doing in the Keating Five matter and later said that his (peripheral) involvement in it was the worst mistake of his Senate career. I have yet to hear Obama admit a mistake or apologize on any matter, ever.

Here is the Wall Street Journal article for your review. I’d suggest that you’d see yourself in it, if you were able to do any self-examination or self-reflection. I know that you aren’t. For others more capable, here it is: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122533157015082889.html

Steve, the majority of the Obama “movement” is cultish and intellectually bereft. You hate Bush and you’ve said so. You’ve called me a Nazi for my early support of Bush. The excesses of this campaign are in the main from your side, not mine. While the majority of Americans want “change” most do not want to see the economy further wrecked by punitive taxation upon the people and business. The class resentment and deep anger of the left has driven this “messiah movement” not any rational basis.

The truth of the matter is that the Senator has no accomplishments of moment. Being the first black president of Harvard Law Review while impressive to some does not qualify one for the presidency. Being elected to the Senate is also not a great qualification.

Obama’s associations all dismissed by you and your fellow cultists are very important and very disturbing.

Obama’s hard leftist positions are very disturbing and important.

You desperate desire for change has so enthralled you that you aren’t able anymore to weigh points in a discussion nor analyze things. This is why the “messiah” movement is a cult.

Do you folks have to wear robes?

I very much respect your right to your mistaken opinions, Steve, which is why I posted your comments.

Fact: McCain was not exonerated. He was cleared of legal wrong doing but he was also censured for his “bad judgment.” That hardly sounds like the restoration of his honor to me. In fact, McCain was considered the worst offender of the Keating Five.
What you fail to see is that it is far worse when someone is actually perpetrating in behavior that hurts people, rather than just associating with someone who has acted in such ways in the very distant apst. Ayers and McCain are the equivalents here, not Obama. He has done nothing to hurt anyone. I’m actually very disturbed that Obama even “associates” with a man as loathsome as John McCain.
You are the one wants to play “guilt by association,” so until you can make Latin American Death Squads, White Supremacy, Anti-Semitism and Domestic Terrorists like G. Gordon Liddy into good things, then you will lose me when it comes to McCain’s past.
Obama was asked by a noted Conservative to sit on a panel with one man named William Ayers and that’s enough to drive you mad, but John McCain openly joins organizations and claims agreement with the philosophy of a man who attempted to assassinate Jack Anderson and you see him as your Messiah.
McCain actually subscribes to the racist and intolerant views of these organizations enough to join them. He also plays a crucial role in one of the most disturbing legislative abuses in the past century (worse than the Tea Pot Dome Scandal and so pernicious that everyone expected McCain’s career to be over after it) and you “exonerate” him. Tell that to the old people who died broke and devastated because of John McCain.
Oh, and because you love researching the “facts,” I give them to you in the following link. I wonder if your messianic-thinking and zealot-like adherence to all things Drudge, Stern and Fox will let you read actual research:

Sadly, I use dissreputable sources like the bi-partisan Factcheck.org, The Annenberg Center and The Pew Charitable Trust.

How could they ever match up to Howard Stern and Matt Drudge?

    on November 1 2008

    Steve,

You have an astounding ability to miss the point. Here it is:

I do not believe that Obama is qualified to be commander in chief because of his character, lack of integrity, nefarious associations, poor judgment, and a stunning hard left record and philosophy.

Therefor, I am pointing out evidence to substantiate these beliefs to the readership.

I believe his tax “cuts” are a lie; his associations with Odinga, Ayers, Dorhn, Farrahkan, Wright, et al are deeply troublesome and preclude him from being the President. They certainly preclude him from acquiring a security clearance for access to government information.

I believe that Obama and the truth have rarely met.

    I believe that Obama is a socialist, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic.

I believe that Obama followers are far too often anti-intellectual in their approach so that his campaign has a cultish quality that deeply disturbs and concerns me.

Your opinions are yours. Why not start your own blog? You’re certainly one of the more articulate cultists I’ve come across.

Your hatred of Bush, which you’ve been quite clear about in the past has entirely blinded you to the truth, and to what Obama is really about. I want McCain to win, and provide evidence that illustrates why I believe his opponent his the lessor choice in the election. If you disagree, that is certainly your right and your affair. If you are nasty, obviously I won’t post your comments here. So, I appreciate your ability to control your vitriol.

Your dismissal of Obama’s association with Ayers and all the rest is a shocking component of this election that I will never understand. I can only understand if from the “cult” perspective. I believe that you and your fellows will simply say, “oh, that issue is not relevant! and mcCain is just bush for 4 more years.”

The failure of the stock market is perfectly timed for the Obama campaign despite the fact that in the main the failure of the economy was brought about by liberal Democrat policies and not on account of some failure of “regulatory oversight” brought about by deregulation. Certainly, deregulation in many respects has proven now to have been a serious error, but the granting of mortgages in the thousands to people who cannot afford them is at the core of the collapse of the markets. This came about because of Democrat action and philosophy not Republican. You never give your side any of its due, and you cannot give any Republican ideas or successes any credence.

So, have fun on tuesday. If Obama loses I hope you’ll not say, “oh, they stole the election AGAIN!”

And start a blog, so I don’t have to keep posting your screeds here. You should have a venue that is your own for your screeds.

Do you cult folks have to wear robes?

  8. Abraham Heschel

    on November 2 2008

Oh, and when you post a message that is three times longer than mine and has absolutely no new content, that’s the definition of a “screed.” I keep inviting you to go bi-partisan research centers to find out if what you are saying has any basis in reality (notice tht I have no fear of criticism of my candidate, in thsi respect). You keep telling me that Fox and Drudge, Right Wing Radio, and Republican Party Talking points are the only truth in the whole wide world. You keep pretending to be an “expert researcher” in these respects, when you know you are merely repeating the things you ahve heard on Right Wing Radio and have read on the Drudge report. Everyone else, according to you, is “prejudiced” or “biased” or “blinded by hate.” Well, if that were the case, why don’t you review the stories at Factcheck.org or the actual data on an informed public presented by the Pew Research Organization? What are you so afraid of? Why are hiding behind rhetoric? What do you fear so? Are you afriad that you will be caught in Messianic thinking? Afraid that you will start seeing more synagogues as mosques? Afraid that you will have an actual policy discussion? Afraid that you have been slandering a man while all the time supporting someone of a far worse character? Afraid that you are “prejudiced,” “biased” and “blinded by hate”?

    on November 2 2008

    Steve,
The policy “discussion” is the content of the blog. If you are in disagreement, go ahead and post. I am not interested nor obligated to respond to every bizarre point or accusation you raise.
Your self-indulgence and arrogance is typical of the approach of the left in this election. I haven’t any fears, certainly not of the kind you suggest in your latest “intellectual” extrusion masquerading as rationality and logic.
You clearly have long past the point where rational discourse is possible with you. This is why you are a high priest in a cult, and why I ask you if you are required to wear robes. You never answer the question.
I have no fears of the kind that you mention above. I only fear that cultists, anti-intellectual, utopianist, hard-left acolytes of a false “messiah” like yourself will gain power in this country and then proceed to fundamentally “change” it - for the worse. You can’t see the forest for the trees, and you don’t realize that you folks, in trying to fix the forest, will likely burn it to the ground instead.
Your moral and ethical blindness and ability to justify every flaw, every lie, every negative aspect of the “messiah” is something to fear. We are certainly seeing a national kind of psychosis going on; your posts are instructive and illustrative.
I invite you again to start your own blog. If you do, I will even provide a link to the readers of this blog. This will be beneficial to all, but mostly to me as you’ll then have other diversions that will keep your attentions elsewhere and give me the pleasure of never having to read your bizare and mainly incorrect screeds, then post them as a cruel yet necessary service to the more rational average reader of this blog.
I’ve paraphrased Mencken for you on many ocassion so let me do it again as a reminder of better days:
Steve, you are a brilliant and articulate fellow except when it comes to matters of history, politics, international affairs, culture, technology, philosophy, theology, and art. Stick with Shakespeare, Steve.

Were it not for my “screeds” (please, look this word up, as you do not use it correctly), you would not get much feedback here.

You can go on about my messianic thinking all you like, but I notice that it’s you who still refuses go to the bi-partisan Factcheck site. This is not “moral” or “ethical” behavior and shows that you do not really care about this country. You merely wish not to proved wrong.

(Intersting word, “Utopianist.” Is that a pianist that no one can find on a map? The adjective you root for is “Utopian.”)
